My professional experience includes senior roles such as Head of Education and Quality Assurance, Head of Information Technology and Business Management, Director of Teaching and Learning, Curriculum Manager, Lecturer, Internal Verifier, Site Director and National Training and Quality Assurance Manager. These roles have allowed me to lead multidisciplinary teams, improve curriculum quality, support awarding body compliance, mentor staff, strengthen assessment practice and deliver practical learning aligned with learner, employer and organisational needs.
I hold an MSc in Business Management and Information Technology, a Bachelor of Computer Science, QTLS status, a Diploma in Education and Training, assessor and internal quality assurance qualifications, and industry-recognised certifications including Cisco, Microsoft, CompTIA, IC3, ECDL and OCR. I have taught and supported learners from Level 1 through Level 7 across BTEC, HNC, HND, FdSc, undergraduate, vocational, professional certification and workforce training programmes.
A key strength I offer is the ability to connect academic learning with practical application. My teaching and training experience covers business management, project management, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, networking, information technology, digital skills, employability, compliance and professional development. I aim to create learning environments where students feel supported, challenged and able to apply knowledge confidently in real workplace and professional settings.
In my current work as Head of Education and Quality Assurance at HHF Training, I lead education, curriculum quality, internal quality assurance, staff development, learner outcomes and compliance activity. I support tutors, assessors, IQAs and delivery teams through mentoring, standardisation, feedback and continuous improvement. This experience has strengthened my ability to combine teaching excellence with strong systems, evidence-based quality assurance and learner-focused operational leadership.
Cybersecurity and digital innovation are central to my current academic and professional development. I am pursuing doctoral research in Cybersecurity, with a focus on enhancing cybersecurity through artificial intelligence. My interests include AI-driven cybersecurity, secure systems design, cloud security, data protection, digital resilience and practical cyber strategies for education and organisations.
I have also independently designed and developed my own web CV, professional portfolio, study resources and Umer AI Learning Platform. Through this platform, I share educational resources, study guides, cybersecurity concepts, AI-supported learning materials and practical technology-based guidance to support learners, teachers, small businesses and cybersecurity professionals. This work reflects my commitment to using education and technology to help others beyond the classroom.
Alongside my teaching and technical background, I bring strong experience in staff mentoring, assessor and IQA training, curriculum development, e-learning, professional certification delivery, work placement coordination, industry engagement and partnership development. I have worked with colleges, universities, awarding bodies, councils, employers, public sector organisations and industry partners including Cisco, Microsoft, CompTIA, ADNOC and Abu Dhabi Police.
